What can I say. This is the second piece of embroidery I ever did. I never think "is that not a bit complicated". I love Vermeers painting so thought I'd have a crack at it. My embroidery is all free hand using wool crewel thread. Like painting but with thread. I've something between 30 and 35 hours work in this piece so you're getting something that was time consuming and won't be repeated by me.
The bag itself is Harris Tweed in cobalt blue. It's just over 30cms tall and around 25cm wide at the bottom. The handle is painted saddle leather. The paint is crackled to give the impression of an old painting. There's a removable shoulder strap. The lining and shoulder strap are made from kaffe fassett designed craft cotton. Comes with its own 100% cotton dust bag
